We live in a Web 2.0 world. This is great news for writers, poets, artists, and anyone with creative aspirations. Heck, it’s great for anyone without creative aspirations.

In a world saturated by new media, there’s one thing I’m reluctant to relinquish: I’m not giving up the notebook even if I get a netbook (a gal can dream).

To reproduce my illustrated journals, I would have to layer publishing software, Flash, and multiple business apps. Who has time for that?

Notebooks have earned their long, romantic tradition. I have yet to get a decent poem from a typed first draft. Even my visual poetry is imagined on engineering paper. Code may be poetry, but so is paper. Bring on the ink.
